A dog memorial book · Hardcover

A book about him. Or her. The one who was yours.

Their breed. Their name. The route they liked. The chair they ruined. Illustrated illustrated for this one book for the book.

A dog memorial book is not a photo collage. It is a story.

A photo collage shows what they looked like. A storybook says what they were. There is a difference, and after they're gone, the difference is everything.

This is not a print-on-demand product. It is a written narrative — thirty-two pages, with their name on the spine — illustrated for this one book and bound as a hardcover. Matte-printed cover. Shipped in a plain box.

After we ship it, the file is closed. There is no second printing. There is only the one.

What to write in a dog memorial book when the grief is fresh.

Don't try to write a eulogy. The brief is short and ordinary on purpose.

Their breed, and their name. Three habits — the small repeated things only the household knows. One phrase they would have heard from you every day. The place in the house they liked best.

That is enough. Juno, our storyteller, writes the rest. You see proofs. You can change a line, or sit with it for a week, or ask for the colour to be quieter. There is no rush from us.

The rainbow bridge, said quietly.

We don't render endings as cartoons. There are no halos, no winged dogs, no captioned skies. The story closes the way the day did — with a familiar room, a chair, a window, a soft good night.

What comes after is left to the reader. The book holds the room. That is what a memorial is for.
